Maria Janoski, Esquire

Maria was born and raised outside of Scranton, Pennsylvania.  The descendant of coal miners and railroad workers, she has devoted her career to advocating on behalf of the "little guy."  Maria maintains a diverse practice with a focus on helping those who have been seriously injured.

After graduating cum laude from Widener University School of law, Maria practiced with firms in Philadelphia and Cherry Hill, New Jersey, where she handled all types of personal injury claims and focused her practice on complex litigation, including class actions, environmental contamination cases and pharmaceutical and medical device mass tort litigations.  A resident of Chester County since 2008, Maria began practicing in West Chester in 2015.

Maria litigates the following types of personal injury cases: motor vehicle accidents, slip-and-falls, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, product liability, chemical exposures, construction accidents, dog bites, and pharmacy misfills.  Maria also handles cases seeking civil remedies for victims of crime.

Maria was named a 2019 Super Lawyer Rising Star for medical malpractice and a 2018 Main Line Today Top Lawyer for Personal Injury.  She writes and lectures on her various practice areas, including nursing home negligence, personal injury and mass torts.

Before attending law school, Maria worked as a legal secretary and paralegal, and she earned a masters in criminal justice from Marywood University and a bachelors degree in English from Cornell University.  While obtaining her law degree, Maria served as an associate editor of the Widener Law Review and was a finalist in the school's annual mock trial competition.

Maria is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and in the federal district courts for the District of New Jersey and the Middle and Eastern Districts of Pennsylvania.  She is also an accredited veterans benefits claims attorney and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

Maria serves on the board of directors for the Chester County Bar Association (for which she also co-chairs the civil litigation section) and the Crime Victims' Center of Chester County.  She is treasurer for the Friends of West Goshen Township Parks and is on the executive committee for the nationally recognized Temple American Inn of Court.

When not practicing law, Maria enjoys traveling, reading mysteries and running.  She ran five half marathons and one full marathon in 2018.
